Thanksgiving is upon us and I’ve definitely been thinking about all of the wonderful things in my life that I am thankful for. Too often, we get bogged down with thoughts about what’s wrong with the world- what we don’t have, what we don’t like, etc. When really, if we all step back and look at our lives, we probably have it pretty good.
This Thanksgiving week, let us be thankful for what we have and spread that good feeling around to those that are less fortunate.
As you all know, since October 1st, Meringue Boutique in Salem + Lake Oswego has been collecting used designer denim to donate to women in local shelters in the Portland and Salem areas. Thanks to you, our generous + thoughtful customers, we have collected 134 pairs of designer jeans (as of today, 11/23)!
Plus, there’s still time left! We have a lofty goal of collecting 200 pair by November 30th, so please, if you have old designer denim collecting dust in your closets, bring ‘em in! For every pair you donate, we’ll give you 20% off new jeans that day AND a $25 gift card to use on something else (the gift card is good for a year).
We couldn’t be more elated about the sucess of this program and can’t wait to bring them to the women in need right here in our own community! And it is because of YOU that this is all possible. Just this week we received a product that is not only changing the way we eat our lunch, but may very well change the planet. Meet the Goodbyn- ‘a better lunchbox, reinvented for kids, parents and our planet’. Seriously, I haven’t been this excited about lunchboxes since I found one with She-Ra on it in the first grade! The Goodbyn was created by Byndoo, a small Seattle-based company with the goal of changing the way kids eat their lunch.
