Meringue Boutique

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  Now, there’s only one holiday left in 2010- NEW YEAR’S EVE!  Woo-hoo!

Two big questions remain:  What are you doing to celebrate? and What are you going to wear?!

I don’t quite have my NYE plans hammered out yet.  I usually get so preocupied with getting through Christmas that New Year’s is always an afterthought.  Better figure it out quick though!  Time to pick out a new dress!

Thankfully, we have TONS of party-perfect new arrivals from Bailey 44, Joie, Nicole Miller, Fifteen Twenty, Black Halo and Ella Moss to make the outfit shopping run a little more smoothly.  I am sure the hardest part will be picking just one.  Ok, maybe one and a ‘back-up’  (just in case, lol).

Click here to look at all of our dresses- more in-store too!

Stop in this week and check out all of the pretty new things.  Happy 2011! Cheers!

I am a huge football fan and one of my favorite fall activities is celebrating with family and friends on gameday.  Whether it is braving the elements, tailgating and cheering for the home team or making food and having everyone over to watch the game on the big screen- fall football is fun!  You know what else is fun?  Shopping for cozy pants, sweaters, scarves and jackets to wear to the games.  Click here to browse our newest fall pieces from Joie, Bailey 44, Patterson J. Kincaid and more.

Maybe football isn’t your thing- how about a pretty new party dress to wear to homecoming?  Click here to shop our entire selection of new and sale dresses.

Happy fall!

About Bailey 44 (from Bailey44.com):

It began in 2006, when two female fashion industry
veterans, one who ran her own business and handled
sales and the other who was a designer, decided to cre-
ate a line that was sexy, interesting, ageless and wear-
able — all the looks that they wanted for themselves, but
couldn’t find in stores. The goal was to have a line that
was cool and understated, sexy but not overt, modern,
relevant, well made, and most importantly, that really fit.
The result was Bailey44.

Headquartered in Los Angeles, California, this contem-
porary, women-owned label is one of the few that is
American made. It allows the designer, who personally
tries on every style of each collection, to be involved in
all phases of production. This in an important distinction,
one that has made all the difference between cookie-
cutter clothing and inventive looks that have integrity
and are made in the USA.

Here at Meringue Boutique, we’ve been on the Bailey 44 train from the beginning.  Basically, it was love at first sight and the love only continues to deepen and grow with every new shipment we get.  Too many pieces of Bailey 44 to count hang in my own closet and I spot celebs in Bailey 44 all the time.  The cuts are trendy (but still very classic), sexy (but not skanky or even close), wearable, comfortable and very flattering– everything the founders wanted and more!  Click here to check out all of our tops, skirts, dresses and jackets from Bailey 44.

Hope all of you out there had a lovely Mother’s Day. Here at Meringue, we know how hard all of you haute mamas out there work to juggle and balance all that life throws at you.  That’s why our store was designed with Mom in mind- women’s clothing & accessories, gifts, children’s + baby clothing, and maternity all in one spot!  Moms- you make our world go ’round and we love you! xoxox

Speaking of moms, or should I say soon-to-be moms- how adorable is Amy Adams and her baby-bump?  She was snapped recently running errands in LA in Bailey 44’s ‘Bluff Top’- proof that you can still be fashionable and chic while also being very prego.

Plus, we know that moms love a deal!  Want to dress your kiddos up a la Suri Cruise, Kingston Rossdale or Violet Affleck but still save some $$$?  Click here to shop Meringue Boutique’s Baby+Kids’ Sale going on right now.

Oh, the memories!  Unlike some, I look back at my prom adventures (and mishaps) fondly.  The hair, the makeup, the date, the limo, the dinner reservations, the after-parties and most importantly- the dress!  We have so many beautiful dresses in right now- I wish I could go back and go to prom again.  Ok, maybe not, but seriously, the dresses are worth the drama.  Check out the flirty and fabulous ‘Cascade Dress’ from Fifteen Twenty (btw this dress & Meringue Boutique are featured in the newest edition of People Magazine’s StyleWatch available on newsstands now!).  If you are going a for something a little more traditional and glam, take a peek at this luxurious Nicole Miller Gown, on sale too!    Click here to check out our entire selection of dresses from labels like Nicole Miller, Black Halo, Alice & Trixie, Bailey 44, Ella Moss, Fifteen Twenty and more!  Take and extra twirl across the floor for me girls, have fun!

Here at Meringue Boutique, we passionately keep up with the trends to keep all of you lovely ladies out there informed about what’s in right now, what’s out and what is here to stay.  One of the ‘right now’ trends that is going to be seen a lot in upcoming seasons is the use of hardware, like studs and chains, to embellish tops, shoes and even pants!  One of the reasons we love this trend is that it actually takes some of the work out of putting ourselves together every day- with these metal accents, we don’t need nearly as much jewelry or accessories to complete our look!  Some of our favorite tops with hardware are from Bailey 44.  Take a look at the ‘High Roller Top’- an easy fit, with subtle chain detailing along the neckline.  If you want something a little more wild, check out the ‘Up the Ante Tank’- available from Meringue Boutique in Navy Blue or Heather Grey.  This top looks great with jeans or harem pants and would be perfect for a night out.  Also available from Bailey 44 is the ‘Bluff Top’ in a strinking shade of blue that pairs nicely with white or black pants and all of your favorite denim.  If studs are more your thing, we have those too!  The ‘Whip it Good Tank’, also from Bailey 44, is awesome!  As you all know, flat sandals and booties are all the rage right now, and we have two pair of Dolce Vitas that make the most out of combining these trends.  Up first is the ‘DV Aventura Sandal’ a cute, suede flat with fringe that gives it that little extra bohemian flare.  The other style that we can barely keep in stock is the ‘Wellesly Bootie’- it has a hidden platform, so it is actually really comfortable too!  In order to not be left out of this fun trend- all of the major denim lables are using studs on their jeans too.  We love this studded ‘Joey’ from True Religion Brand Jeans.  It has enough studs to make the jean unique, without going totally over the top.  And please don’t fear that this is one of those ‘flash in the pan’ trends– you will see studs and chains for many seasons to come.  Go ahead, let your inner- tough girl out to play!

So…I have a wedding to attend this weekend.  Usually, I would have had my dress picked out months ago, but, in this case, I waited until the last minute. Thankfully, I found a gorgeous Lauren Conrad maxi dress (on sale too!) that is going to be perfect. But all of this got me thinking on all of the trouble we go through when deciding what to wear to a wedding. Obviously, white and even ivory are out of the question, but there are so many other things to take into consideration- Is it a daytime or evening wedding?… What colors are being worn by the wedding party?… Should my date and I match eachother?… Am I showing too much skin? And the list goes on… Really, the day should be about the bride, but, come on, we want to look fabulous too!
Thankfully, Meringue Boutique has so many dress options to choose from. From the more formal lines, like Black Halo and Nicole Miller, to the in-between styles of Bailey 44, down to the most simple styles from Michael Stars and Ella Moss- we have got you covered! Take a a peek at all of our dresses and see if you can avoid that last minute rush of finding something to wear to all of these end-of-summer weddings.
